BURY ROAD, WESTERN AVENUE & MARTELLO ROAD – ROAD CLOSURE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.
WHAT:
- Road closed to all vehicles and no parking – no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time
- Only one closure will be in place at any one time to maintain ease of access for residents
WHERE & WHEN:
- Bury Road from its junction with Western Road to the property boundary of No. 28A. Anticipated dates: 27th July 2026 until 4th September 2026
- Public Right of Way Footpath 61 between Bury Road and Canford Cliffs Road. Anticipated dates: 27th July 2026 until 21st August 2026
- Western Avenue from its junction with Bury Road to the property boundary of Nos. 14/16. Anticipated dates: 24th August 2026 until 4th September 2026
- Martello Road from its junction with Western Road to its junction with Chesterfield Close. Anticipated dates: 31st August 2026 until 11th September 2026
WHY: This is to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN
ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained, access to properties will remain depending on site safety
DIVERSION: Via signed routes

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months, and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.
