What is happening?
CLIFTON ROAD, RUDDINGTON - PROPOSED TOUCAN CROSSING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 proposes to install a signalised toucan crossing on Clifton Road, Ruddington between B680 Wilford Road and Clifton Avenue in the Borough of Rushcliffe:
The proposals will incorporate a controlled area indicated by zig-zag markings along the carriageway where parking, stopping and loading will be prohibited. The extents of the controlled area are: -
CLIFTON ROAD, RUDDINGTON (the north-east side) From a point 145 metres south-east of its junction with Clifton Avenue in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 31 metres.
CLIFTON ROAD, RUDDINGTON (the south-west side) From a point 5 metres north-west of its junction with B680 Wilford Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 27 metres.
The crossing is being installed to improve pedestrian facilities and to help reduce traffic speeds on approaches to the proposed crossing on Clifton Road, Ruddington.
Any objections should clearly state the reasons for the objections and should reach us in writing, either by letter or email, by 29th July 2026. If the objection cannot be resolved, it will be reported through the County Council's procedures at the appropriate time.
