TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2026

(NORWICH)

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

HALF MILE ROAD – from its junction with Aylsham Road for 50m westwards to facilitate sewer repair works from 6th to 7th July 2026 (may continue until 18th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Aylsham Road, Mile Cross Road, Half Mile Road and vice versa. The works promoters is Norfolk County Council.

(ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

QUEENS ROAD LOADING BAYS AND ST STEPHENS STREET

A) Queens Road Loading Bays (north side of carriageway only) from 58m southeast of its junction with St Stephens Street/Queens Road Roundabout for 22.5m south-eastwards and

B) St Stephens Street at its junction with Surrey Street to facilitate public realm improvement scheme works. Traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over Road A shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload and Road B shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of a no right turn restriction allowing traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) to turn right onto Surrey Street from St Stephens Street from 29th June to 31st July 2026 (may continue until 21st August 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

SOTHERTON ROAD – from its junction with Parmentor Road to its junction with Buckingham Road to facilitate footway patching works from 30th June to 3rd July 2026 (may continue until 14th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Buckingham Road, Sotherton Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath.

Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle tracks, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
