BUS SERVICE IMPROVEMENT AND HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT WORKS, BOURNEMOUTH TOWN CENTRE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.

WHAT, WHERE AND WHEN:

Westover Road –

• No waiting at any time and no loading at any time (suspension of parking place for buses) to facilitate a Bus Stand – no stopping except local buses, on the south-western side opposite Nos. 49-51 (Premier Inn) for a distance of 45m, and outside the Pavillion car park for a distance of approx. 40m

• No waiting at any time except taxis – north-eastern side from a point 1.5m south-east of the property boundary of Nos. 7/8, for a distance of approx. 32m southeastwards (suspension of payment parking place)

• No stopping at any time except taxis – south-western side from the extended property boundary of Nos. 6/7, north-westwards for a distance of approx. 22m

• No waiting at any time and no loading at any time (suspension of part of taxi rank) to facilitate a Bus Stop Clearway – no stopping except local buses, on the south-western side from the extended boundary of Nos. 6/7, south-eastwards for a distance of approx. 26m.

The traffic restrictions commenced on the 5th June 2026, anticipated to be in place until 28th February 2027

Hinton Road –

• No parking, no waiting at any time and no loading at any time (suspension of street parking for cars and motorcycles) to facilitate a Bus Stop Clearway – no stopping except local buses, on the north-east side for the entire length of the bay outside Nos. 4-11 Hinton Road

• No parking, no waiting at any time and no loading at any time (suspension of payment parking) to facilitate traffic movement, on the south-west side opposite the property boundaries of Nos. 4-11 Hinton Road for a distance of approx. 38m

The traffic restrictions commenced on the 15th June 2026, anticipated to be in place until 28th February 2027

WHY: To facilitate the Bus Service Improvement Plan works by BCP Council.

ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained and access to properties will be maintained depending on site safety.

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months, and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.

The Council regrets any inconvenience to the public caused by this traffic order.
