RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
(ABERDARE ROAD, ABERCYNON)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council have made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.

The closure is necessary to facilitate works to replace a pole within the verge.

The effect of the Order will be to close Aberdare Road, Abercynon, from its junction with Nash Street in a general south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 27 metres.

Alternative Route – available via Aberdare Road, Park Street, Abercynon Road, Ynysybwl Road, Berw Road, Bridge Street, Bridge Street Interchange, A470, Abercynon Roundabout, New Road (A4059), B4275, Abercynon Road, Mountain Ash Road & Aberdare Road.

Access will be maintained for emergency services, pedestrians and to premises.

The closure is expected to be in operation between the following dates and times, or until such time as the works has been completed: -

• Daytime closure 9am – 3pm on 17th July 2026
