THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 126 STOCKPORT NO.2) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Closure of Footpath 126 Stockport, from its junction with Footpath 127 Stockport for approximately 375m, to a point on Footpath 126 Stockport near the northwest corner of the factory, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath. This Order is necessary to enable works for a development. It is estimated that the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months. The following diversion will be provided: from the junction with Footpath 126 in a northerly direction along Footpath 127 Stockport, as far as a new entrance opposite Flowery Field, onto a constructed diversion route in an easterly direction, then southerly direction, as far as Footpath 126 Stockport. This Order will come into operation on 19 July 2026 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
