THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (MACCLESFIELD ROAD, HAZEL GROVE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Macclesfield Road, Hazel Grove, from the junction of Melford Road to approximately 20 metres south of the junction of Chatsworth Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow gas main replacement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 6 weeks.
The following diversions will be provided : Diversion 1: London Road, Chester Road, Dean Lane, and vice versa. Diversion 2: Buxton Road, Manchester East Airport Link, Macclesfield Road, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians. This Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
