What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (THOMAS LEWIS WAY) (ROAD CLOSURE) (102/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council made the above Order on 25th June 2026.
1. The effect of the order will be to close Thomas Lewis Way, from its junction with St Denys Road to its junction with Horseshoe Bridge (southbound only), between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.
2. The order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are cable replacement works.
3. There is alternative route is via St Denys Road, Portswood Road, Bevois Hill.
4. The Order will come into force on 26th June 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is currently expected that the works will take 6 weeks to complete.
