What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
CHURCH ROAD, MELBOURNE

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Church Road, Melbourne between Main Street and
Church Field commencing 20 July 2026 until 22 July
2026 at 08.00 hours until 18.00 hours to allow works
for excavation to install telecoms cable on Church
Road, Melbourne. The road closure is necessary
to enable the works to be carried out in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within three days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Main Street, Melbourne Road,
Sand Lane and Church Road, Melbourne CP,
Thornton CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but
access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
