What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Newry, Mourne and Down District Council
by virtue of the powers conferred on it by Article 8A and Schedule of 3A
of the Road Traffic Regulation (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, is minded
to make an Order to temporarily restrict or prohibit all traffic for the
following events:
Newry Pride

An application has been received from Jenny Deane for the purposes
of Newry Pride.
The restriction will start on Saturday 22 August 2026 from 9am to 5pm.
Full Road Closure: Hill Street from Margaret Square junction to Marcus
Square, Newry.
Glasdrumman 5k Fun Run
An application has been received from Glasdrumman GAC for the
purposes of Glasdrumman 5k Fun Run.
The restriction will start on Friday 28 August 2026 from 6pm to 9pm.
Full Road Closures: Quarter Road & Head Road, Annalong.
Newry Water Festival
An application has been received from Newry DEA Forum (Newry,
Mourne and Down District Council) for the purposes of Newry Water
Festival.
The restriction will start on Monday 31 August 2026 from 9am to 6pm.
Full Road Closures: Albert Basin, Newry.

Persons wishing to make representations to the Council regarding the
proposals may make representations in writing at the address below by
5pm, Wednesday 29 July 2026. Representations received after this date
will not be considered.
