Highclere Road, Southampton - Temporary Road Closures due to Pedestrian Improvement Works

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.

1. The effect of the Order will be:

a) To close Highclere Road for its entire length.

b) To close Rockleigh Road from its junction with Thornhill Road to 50m west of its junction with Thornhill Road.

c) To close Lordswood Gardens from its junction with Lordswood Gardens to 20m north of its junction with Lordswood Gardens.

1. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for pedestrian improvements.
2. The alternative route will be advertised locally.
3. The Order will come into force on 13th July 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 28th July 2026.
