What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Thickwood Lane (Part), Colerne; from a point approximately 305m north east of its junction with C151 for a distance of approximately 74m in a south easterly direction to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out new connection works and other associated works. 

Alternative route via Thickwood Lane (unaffected length) – UC 837201 – UC 827203 – C151 – Thickwood Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. 

This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 5 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water Services on 0345 6003600. 

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: B) C225 (Part), Limpley Stoke; from outside its property known as No.23 Midford Lane for a distance of approximately 75m in a south easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out replacement of street lighting and associated works. 

Alternative route via C225 (unaffected length) – A36 – Branch Road – B3110 – C225 (unaffected length) and vice versa. 

This Order will come into operation on 06 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 1 day. For further information please contact Scottish and Southern Power Distribution on 07918 305900. Orders A) and B) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. 

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. 

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
