Wolsingham - Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Building Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Public Rights of Way Footpath No.80 Wolsingham Parish, Middle Fawnees Farm, Wolsingham) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025
The above-named Order made by the Council on 22/12/2025, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 1/1/2026 has been continued in force, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 31/8/2027 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of footpath. A 73 metre length of Public Footpath No. 80, Wolsingham Parish, that extends south from its junction with Public Footpath No. 79 at Middle Fawnees Farm Wolsingham to enable building works to occur adjacent to the public footpath. An alternative route will be provided by the landowner on the proposed permanent new line to the south of the existing wall to the south east of the closed section.
