ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (ALBION STREET, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Albion Street, Dunstable at the junction of Edward Street.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 15 July 2026 between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Princes Street, Union St, Edward St.

The Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(PRINCES STREET, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Princes Street, Dunstable opposite number 13.

This temporary closure is required to enable column replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 16 to 20 July 2026. Between the hours of 0800 and 1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via West St, Victoria St, Albion St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 16 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(NORTHALL ROAD, EATON BRAY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Northall Road, Eaton Bray between the county boundary and Chiltern View.

This temporary closure is required to enable cable overblow work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 13 July 2026 between the hours of 0930 – 1530hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Harling Road, B489, B440 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 4 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO

INTRODUCE A DISABLED PARKING BAY ON CLARKES WAY,

HOUGHTON REGIS

Reason for proposal: The disabled parking space would provide a dedicated place for blue badge holders to park.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following length of road in Houghton Regis:-

1.  Clarkes Way, southeast side, from a point approximately 6 metres northeast of the eastern flank wall of No. 1 Clarkes Way and extending in a northeasterly direction covering an area approximately 6.6m in length and 2m in width.

Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Order Highways Act 1980

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (TODDINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 62 AND BRIDLEWAY NO. 107) PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2026

On the 26 June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to create part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 107, Toddington as described below.

The length of Footpath No. 62, Toddington to be created extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 107, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0062 2812 in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 140 metres following a track to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington at OS GR TL 0053 2802.

The new length of footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The length of Bridleway No. 107, Toddington to be created extends from its junction with Footpath No. A62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0070 2814 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 47 metres across a culvert to OS GR TL 0065 2815 then continues in a westerly direction for approximately 5 metres to OS GR TL 0065 2815 then continues in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 34 metres along a track through woodland to OS GR TL 0062 2812 then continues in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 46 metres to terminate at its junction with Russell Road at OS GR TL 0059 2815.

The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (TODDINGTON: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO. 63) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026

On the 26 June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert part of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington as described below.

The length of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington to be stopped up extends from an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0072 2807 in a generally northerly direction for approximately 66 metres to OS GR TL 0073 2814 then continues in a generally westerly direction for approximately 26 metres to terminate at its junction with Footpath No. 62, Toddington and Footpath No. A62, Toddington at OS GR TL 0071 2814.

The bridleway is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington to be created extends from an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0072 2807 in a westerly direction for approximately 8 metres to OS GR TL 0071 2807 then continues in a northerly direction for approximately 61 metres to OS GR TL 0073 2813 then continues in a westerly direction for approximately 26 metres to terminate at its junction with Footpath No. A62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 107, Toddington at OS GR TL 0070 2814.

The new route of the bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (TODDINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 62) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026

On the 26 June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington as described below.

The length of Footpath No. 62, Toddington to be stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington, Footpath No. A62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0071 2814 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 56 metres across a ditch to OS GR TL 0065 2815 then continues in a south-westerly direction for approximately 176 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington at OS GR TL 0053 2802.

The footpath is stopped up over its full width.

The three Public Path Orders outlined above relate to public rights of way on The Glebe public open space in Toddington. The Orders come into force on 3 July 2026 but if a person aggrieved by an Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 1 July 2026 make an application to the High Court.
