THE A11 TRUNK ROAD (ELLINGHAM ROAD INTERCHANGE TO LONDON ROAD ROUNDABOUT, ATTLEBOROUGH, NORFOLK) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A11 Trunk Road in Norfolk to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out in safety.
The works will take place over approximately 4 months (Mon-Fri, 8pm to 6am), starting on, or after, Monday 6 July 2026.
The restrictions and prohibitions will be applied only to the extent that is necessary for particular works to be undertaken and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
The effect of the Order will be to impose, for 24 hours daily -
1. a speed restriction of 50 miles per hour on the A11 -
• southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Ellingham Road Interchange to the north-eastern side of London Road Roundabout, Attleborough, and
• southbound exit and entry slip roads at Ellingham Road Interchange
2. closure of the lay-bys adjacent to the A11 –
• southbound carriageway situated at approximately 1100 metres south of the entry slip road at Stennerton Interchange,
• southbound carriageway situated approximately 1100 metres and 4500 metres south of the entry slip road at Larling Interchange,
• southbound carriageway situated approximately 700 metres north of the northern side of Thetford Road Roundabout, and
• northbound carriageway situated at approximately 1300 metres south of the exit slip road at Larling Interchange.
The temporary mandatory speed limit will not apply to emergency service or special force vehicles, and lay-by closures will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, works or winter maintenance vehicles.
The Order will come into force on 29 June 2026 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
