What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (A595 GRIZEBECK) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the A595 Grizebeck, from its junction with the A5092, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1.4km.
A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the A5092, A590 and the unrestricted section of the A595.

The Order will come into operation on 17th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed
