Swindon - Multiple Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY CLOSURES

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following orders:

(STR001361 Callas Hill, Wanborough) This Order is introduced for HEALTH AND SAFETY and will impose prohibition of driving on Callas Hill between the Burgh Crossroads and High Street junction. Traffic to be diverted via The Ridgeway, A346 Marlborough Road, Pack Hill and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 16 July 2026 for 3 days until midnight on the 19 July 2026 to facilitate the Motor Cross of Great Britain event at Foxhill Moto Park.

(STR001358 Dixon Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on the Dixon Street outside No 25. Access to be maintained for residents with traffic diverted via Dowling Street, Commercial Road and Cromby Street. The Order comes into force on the 22 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 22 and 28 July 2026.

(STR001347 Avening Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for WALES AND WEST UTILITIES and will impose a prohibition of driving on the Avening Street outside No’s 10 and 11. Access to be maintained. The Order comes into force on the 27 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 27 and 31 July 2026.

(STR001356 Westrop, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on the Westrop outside Bartrop Yard. Traffic to be diverted via A361 Lechlade Road, Grove Hill and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 13 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 13 and 17 July 2026.

(STR001358 Dixon Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on the Dixon Street outside No 25. Access to be maintained for residents with traffic diverted via Dowling Street, Commercial Road and Cromby Street. The Order comes into force on the 22 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 22 and 28 July 2026.

(STR001230 and STR001356 C141 Sevenhampton Lane, Hannington) This Order is being introduced for SSE and will impose a prohibition of driving and restriction on speed on the C141 between Queenalines Farm and junction with Bellingham Lane.

Traffic to be diverted via B4000 Shrivenham Road, A361 Swindon Road, A361 Highworth Road to Honda Way to A419 T0 A420 (Oxford Road) to Thornhill Road and Highworth Road. The Order comes into force on the 13 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 11 August 2026.

(STR001300 B4000 Shrivenham Road, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for INSTALLATION OF FOUL DRAINAGE NETWORK AND S278 HIGHWAY WORKS and will impose a prohibition of driving on the B4000 Shrivenham Road from the junction with Swindon Road southwards towards Sevenhampton Lane. Traffic to be diverted via Sevenhampton Lane, Supermarine Road and Swindon Road. The Order comes into force on the 20 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 30 August 2026.

(STR001344 B4000 Shrivenham Road, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on the B4000 Shrivenham Road between the junction with Swindon Road/Brewery Street Roundabout junction southwards to Stranks Close. Traffic to be diverted via A361 Swindon Road, A361 Highworth Road, B4006 Highworth Road, B4006 Hobley Drive, B4006 Swindon Road, A4312 Oxford Road, A420, B4508, B4000 Shrivenham Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 27 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 27 and 31 July 2026.

(STR001343 Albert Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Albert Street. Traffic to be diverted via Little London, Church Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 7 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 7 and 13 July 2026.

(STR001338 Pinehurst Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Pinehurst Road (southbound) side of No 146. Traffic to be diverted via Whiteworth Road, Cheney Manor Road and Beech Avenue. The Order comes into force on the 30 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 30 July and 2 August 2026.

(STR001339 The Forty and High Street, Bishopstone) This Order is being introduced for OPENREACH and will impose a prohibition of driving on The Forty for its entire length and High Street at the junction with The Forty. Traffic to be diverted via Icknield Way, un-named road to Bourton, New Town Lane and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 27 July 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 27 to 29 July 2026.
