TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (EXHIBITION ROAD) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Exhibition Road to be closed from its junction with Cromwell Road to its junction with Museum Lane.
The road is to be closed to vehicles for crane works.
The restrictions will come into force from 06.00hrs until 18.00hrs on Saturday 11th July 2026, with a backup date of Saturday 18th July 2026.
Diverted through traffic may use Thurloe Place, Cromwell Place, Harrington Road, Queen’s Gate, Prince Consort Road, Exhibition Road. Or Exhibition Road, Prince Consort Road, Queen’s Gate, Cromwell Road, or Harrington Road, Cromwell Place, Thurloe Place.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
