What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Whaddon Lane (Part), Hilperton; from its junction with Hill Street for a distance of approximately 100m in a northeasterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out reinstatement and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 21 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 2 days. B) Newtown (Part), Westbury; from its junction with Short River Road to its property known as Long River Farm.
C) Long River Road (Part), Westbury; from its junction with Newtown to its property known as Seven Perches to enable Openreach to carry out pole up and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 21 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 18:00 for 1 day. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 22 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. E) B3099 (Part), Dilton Marsh; from its property known as No.77 High Street to its property known as No.40 High Street to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer repairs and other associated works. Alternative route via B3099 (unaffected length) – A3098 – A36 – Somerset – B3099 (unaffected length) and vice versa. F) C242 (Part), Bromham; from its junction with the Right of Way known as Footpath 72, Bromham for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out mains leak repairs and other associated works. Alternative route via C242 (unaffected length) – C250 – A342 – C242 (unaffected length) and vice versa. G) A3098 (Part), Dilton Marsh and Westbury; from its roundabout junction with Mane Way to its junction with Hismley.

I) C386 (Part), Dilton Marsh and Westbury; from its roundabout junction with A3098 to its junction with Uldbourne Place to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and other associated works. Alternative route G via A3098 (unaffected length) – A350 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route H and I via B3099 (unaffected length) – A3098 – A36 – Somerset – B3099 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 June 2026 and the closure will be required weekdays only between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 07 July 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Phase 1: C270 (Part), Horningsham; from its junction with The Island for a distance of approximately 450m in a north easterly direction.
Phase 2: The Island (Part), Horningsham; from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Chapel Street.
Phase 3: Church Lane (Part), Horningsham; from its junction with Church Street to its property known as St Johns The Baptist Church to enable Wessex Water Services Limited to carry out mains replacement and associated works.
Alternative route 1 via C270 (unaffected length) – C282 – C218 and vice versa.
Alternative route 2 via Chapel Street – Church Street and vice versa.
Alternative route 3 via Chapel Lane – Rowes Hill – Gentle Street – C270 and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 23 July 2026 and the phases will run consecutively and the closure will be required 24 hours a day until 09 October 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. B) Wadswick Lane (Part), Box; from its junction with A365 to its junction with Lower Wadswick.
And to temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction on the following length of road:
C) A365 (Part), Atworth and Box; from its junction with C169 to its junction with B3109 to enable Traffic Management for ingress and egress to WOMAD festival.
The closure, speed restriction and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 and the closure will be required until 27 July 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (No.59) 2025 (Ref TTRO 11530)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. The Order which previously came into operation on 06 October 2025 will now recommence on 03 July 2026. It is required to enable carriageway patching, surface dressing and associated maintenance works. The Order has maximum duration period of 18 months. The closures are anticipated to be for up to 5 days but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 2 weeks prior to the closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The closures are anticipated to take place between 03 July 2026 and 30 August 2026.
