Rock & Ribs Festival 2026

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary 30mph speed limit as detailed in the Schedule below. The Order shall come into operation on the 10th day of July 2026 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Order will be made to facilitate the Rock ‘n’ Ribs Festival on the 17th day of July 2026 to the 21st day of July 2026 and is in the interest of public safety. The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary. Exemptions are made in the Order for emergency service vehicles only. Statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
