(Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2026
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary 30mph Speed Limit as specified in the Schedule below. This Order will come into operation on the 10th day of July 2026 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 16th day of July 2026 for one day (between 0900 hours and 1700 hours) to enable Connect It Utility Services working on behalf of Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks to carry out works to remove and replace overhead power lines. The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles.
