What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE CASTLE STREET, MELBOURNE
WHEN: 22 July to 24 July 2026 (08:00 to 18:00).
WHERE: Castle Street, Melbourne between Potter Street and Church Street.
REASON: To facilitate water connection installation.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Castle Street, Station Road, Chapel Street, Derby Road, Market Place, Church Street and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will reopen as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
