THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR WITHAM ST HUGHS, LINCOLNSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A46 Trunk Road, near Witham St Hughs, in the County of Lincolnshire, to enable maintenance works to be carried out nearby.
The effect of the Order will be to –
(1) prohibit vehicles from entering or leaving the A46 at its junction with Newark Road, near Witham St Hughs;
(2) close the gaps in the central reservation of the A46 opposite the junctions with Wood Lane and Newark Road near Witham St Hughs; and
(3) close the dedicated right turn lane leading from the southbound carriageway of the A46 to the gap opposite Newark Road.
The work will be carried out between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Friday 24th July 2026 and continue for one night. The Order will come into force on 17th July 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures and prohibition.
Diversion routes via the A1 and alternative junction of the A46 will be signed.
