THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(CHAPEL ASH ISLAND) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on Chapel Ash Island
in its entirety from its junction with Ring Road St Andrews
and its junction with Ring Road St Marks.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken from 9 July 2026 until 15 July 2026, between
the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Outbound: (A41, A5, A449,
A4150) Tettenhall Road, The Rock, Wergs Road,
Holyhead Road, Newport Road, Kingswood Road,
Albrighton By-Pass, Newport Road, Watling Street,
Wolverhampton Road, Stafford Road, Stafford Street,
Ring Road St Peters, Ring Road St Andrews.
Inbound: (A4150, A449, A5, A41) Ring Road St Marks,
Penn Road Island, Ring Road St Johns, Ring Road
St Georges, Bilston Street Island, Ring Road St Davids,
Stafford Street, Stafford Road, Wolverhampton Road,
Watling Street, Newport Road, Albrighton By-Pass,
Kingswood Road, Newport Road, Holyhead Road,
Wergs Road, The Rock, Tettenhall Road.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing
works by City of Wolverhampton Council.
