The A22 and A232 GLA Roads (Godstone Road and Wickham Road, London Borough of Croydon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Stopping) Order 2026
1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
2. The purpose of the Order is to enable the installation of electrical vehicle charge points works to take place on the A22 Godstone Road and A232 Wickham Road.
3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(1) entering, exiting or proceeding on the unnamed service road fronting Nos. 794 to 826 Wickham Road in its entirety;
(2) stopping in the Parking and Disabled Persons Vehicles Bay outside of Nos. 820 to 826, 798 to 814 and 816 Wickham Road;
(3) stopping in the Parking and Disabled Persons Vehicles Bay outside of Nos. 6 to 10 Orchard Court, Wickham Road;
(4) stopping in the Disabled Persons Vehicles Bay outside of Nos. 3 to 4 and 5 to 6 Orchard Court, Wickham Road;
(5) stopping in the Parking and Disabled Persons Vehicles Bay outside of Nos. 8 to 30, Godstone Road, Kenley;
(6) stopping in the Electric Vehicles Charging Point Bay outside of No. 40, Godstone Road, Kenley;
(7) stopping in the Parking and Disabled Persons Vehicles Bay opposite Nos 6 to 10 Famet Gardens, Kenley and Nos.23 to 23A Godstone Road, Kenley.
Works will be phased such that some restrictions will apply only at certain times.
The Order will be effective at certain times between 8:00 AM on 10th July 2026 and 6:00 PM on 30th December 2026, or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
5. At such times as the prohibitions are in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via the main A232 Wickham Road to normal route of travel.
