U6704 ALEXANDRA ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intend to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U6704 Alexandra Road Ashington from its junction with Woodhorn Road for a distance of 138 metres in a south easterly direction in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 20th July 2026 until the 20th January 2027.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 20th July 2026 until the 21st July 2026 between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until the 20th January 2027.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being First Avenue, Hawthorn Road, Woodhorn Road and vice-versa or Alexandra Road, Sixth Avenue, Hawthorn Road, Woodhorn Road and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes and where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council for carriageway patching and associated works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
