Multiple Roads, Winchester - Temporary Road Restrictions due to Boomtown Fair 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 to allow the Boomtown Fair 2026 to take place out on or near the road.     ROADS TO BE CLOSED - From Tuesday 11th August 2026 at 22:00 to Monday 17th August 2026 at 19:00: A31 Alresford Road (Westbound Layby) for its entire length. A31 Alresford Road (Eastbound Layby) for its entire length.   From Tuesday 11th August 2026 at 20:00 to Friday 14th August 2026 at 20:00: Alresford Road (Mornhill Spur) between its junction with Chapel Lane and continuing for its entire length.   From Monday 17th August 2026 to Monday 17th August 2026 (Timings stated below): Winnall Manor Road between its junction Alresford Road and continuing to a point 20 metres North on Winnall Manor Road. (09:00-17:00) A272 Spitfire Link between its junction with A31 Petersfield Road and its junction with M3 Junction 9. (09:00-18:00) B3046 Alresford Road between its junction with A272 Petersfield Road and its junction with Westfield Road. (08:00-17:00) Avington Road for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Brick Kiln Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Brightstone Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Chapel Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Filmore Hill Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Kitcombe Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Kitts Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Mary Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Petersfield Road for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Plain Farm Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Rodfield Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Tithelands Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Three Horse Shoes Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) West Tisted Lane for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) West Tisted Road for its entire length. (08:00-17:00) Westfield Road for its entire length. (08:00-17:00)   From Wednesday 12th August 2026 to Thursday 13th August 2026 between the hours 08:00-20:00: Avington Lane for its entire length. Avington Road for its entire length. Easton Lane for its entire length. Rodfield Lane for its entire length. East Lane for its entire length. Ford Lane for its entire length. Bridgetts Lane for its entire length. Chillandham Lane for its entire length.    
TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTIONS - To impose a 40-mph temporary speed restriction on the following roads: A31 Alresford Road between its junction with Percy Hobbs Roundabout and its junction with Lady Croft Farm Roundabout. (Tuesday 11th August 2026 at 09:00 until Tuesday 18th August 2026 at 05:00) A272 Petersfield Road between its junction with A31 Alresford Road and continuing to a point 600 metres Southeast on A272 Petersfield Road. (Monday 10th August 2026 at 06:00 until Tuesday 18th August 2026 at 05:00)  
NO RIGHT OR LEFT TURN - Those parts of the following roads (Except for farm vehicle access) From Monday 13th July 2026 at 09:00 to Tuesday 1st September 2026 at 18:00: A31 Junction with Temple Valley.  
ONE-WAY SUSPENSION - To impose a one-way road on the following roads: From Monday 17th August 2026 at 09:00 to Monday 17th August 2026 at 16:00: A31 Alresford Road (Lady Croft Farm Roundabout): The one-way restriction prohibits vehicles travelling westbound on Lady Croft Farm Roundabout and from B3047 Alresford Road. (Except buses)  
GAP CLOSURES - From Monday 13th July 2026 at 09:00 to Tuesday 1st September 2026 at 18:00: A31 between its junction with Percy Hobbs Roundabout and between its junction with Lady Croft Farm Roundabout.   Please note Cheesefoot Head Car Park will be closed from Monday 10th August 2026 to Wednesday 19th August 2026.  
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES - Diversions will be posted on site during the closure periods.  
DURATION OF ORDER: from Monday 13th July 2026 for a period of 6 months.  (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the restrictions will be required for no longer than Tuesday 1st September 2026 and this order will be in operation as per the above schedule.)  
The Road Restrictions have been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate the event of the Boomtown Fair 2026.
