Helions Bumpstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 4, Helions Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from a point 554 metres south of Footpath 1 for approximately 20 metres, which will be 10 metres either of side (including) the footbridge.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 1 July 2026 to 30 July 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the refurbishment of Parsonage Farm Footbridge (on Footpath 4) is undertaken.

Alternative route: Footpath 4, Footpath 49, Footpath 3, Footpath 14, Footpath 1 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 01 July 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
