(PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2019
(AMENDMENT) ORDER No.2 2026
The Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has recently made an Order, the effect of which is to amend the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (Parking Places) Order 2019 to introduce charges, subject to certain provisions, at the Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre Car Park.
Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre Car Park, St. Johns Road, Tunbridge Wells
The following provisions apply only to the St. Johns Sports Centre Car Park
1) The charges listed in PART TWO of the principal order, as amended by this order, shall only apply between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday inclusive.
2) The charges listed in PART TWO of the principal order, as amended by this order, shall not apply to users of the sports centre for the initial 3 hours of their stay in any day provided they register their visit. Second and subsequent visits in any day will not be eligible for the free period.
3) The charges listed in PART TWO of the principal order, as amended by this order, shall not apply to Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre staff provided they park within bays designated for staff use.
4) The charges listed in PART TWO of the principal order, as amended by this order, shall not apply to vehicles parked in any of the 11 bays designated for school use.

A copy of the order, which will come into operation on 1 July 2026, may be inspected during normal office hours at The Amelia Scott, Monson Way, Tunbridge Wells and can also be viewed at tunbridgewells.gov.uk/consultation. Should you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks of publication of this notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
