ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U6953 Telham Lane, Battle)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Telham Lane – from the junction with C27 Powdermill Lane to the junction with C93 Telham Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C93 Telham Lane – A2100 Hastings Road, Battle Hill, Lower Lake – C27 Powdermill Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3178 Bethune Way, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Bethune Way – from the junction with U3171 Lower Park Road to the junction with A2101 Park Gates roundabout.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2101 Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road – U3169 South Terrace – U3178 Braybrooke Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 June and 17 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

New England Lane – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 15 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 17 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sheepshaw Lane – from the junction with C212 Perrymans Lane to Sheepshaw Farm.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C603 Sheepshaw Lane – C212 Perrymans Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 13 and 15 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A268 Whitebread Lane – U6938 Coppards Lane – A28 Station Road – U6631 Beales Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 and 15 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cottage Lane – from the junction with C22 Harts Green to the junction with A28 Main Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A28 Main Road – C22 Wheel Lane, Harts Green and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 17 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Farthing Lane – from the junction with C277 Redpale to the junction with C18 Herrings Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C277 Redpale, Bluekiln Road – C18 Herrings Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 13 and 14 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Hawkhurst Road/Junction Road/Junction Road/Compasses/Hawkhurst Road/Sandrock Hill/The Street – from the County border to the junction with C21 Brede Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2244 The Street, Tollgate Road – A21(T) New Road, Hastings Road, Woodmans Green Road, Vinehall Road, Johns Cross Road, Robertsbridge bypass, Northbridge Street roundabout, Silverhill, London Road – A229 Coopers Corner, Horns Hill – A229 Horns Hill (KCC), Horns Road (KCC) – B2244 Hastings Road (KCC) and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 13 and 15 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Rye Hill/Rye Road/Main Street/Flackley Ash/Barnets Hill – from the junction with A268 Fishmarket Road to the junction with U6294 Kitchenour Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A268 Two Hovens, Peasmarsh Road, Whitebread Lane – A28 Station Road, Main Street, Hastings Road, Perryman Cross, Well House Hill, Horns Cross, Northiam Road, Cackle Street, Brede Hill, Brede Road, Main Road, Church Lane, Westfield Lane – A21(T) Sedlescombe Road North – A21 Sedlescombe Road North – A2101 St Helens Road, Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road, Albert Road – A259 Denmark Place, Fountain roundabout, Breeds Place, Pelham Place, Sturdee Place, Marine Parade, East Parade, East Beach, The Bourne, Old London Road, Rye Road – A259(T) Winchelsea Road, White Hart Hill, Winchelsea Road, Rye Road, The Thorne, Main Road, Hastings Road, Rectory Lane, Roberts Hill, Ferry Hill, Tanyard Lane, Royal Military Road, New Winchelsea Road, Winchelsea Road, Wish Street roundabout, Strand Quay, South Undercliff, Fishmarket Road, Fishmarket roundabout – A268 Fishmarket Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 22 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
