Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Orders under Sections 84(1)(a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

The Effect of the Order: Implement: 30mph currently National Speed Limit

‘The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Elsenham) (Speed Limits) Order 2007’ and ‘The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Elsenham) (Speed Limits) Order 2023’ are hereby revoked in their entirety however, any roads not mentioned above shall continue in force by virtue of this new Order.

(Footpath 91, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Use)

Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 91, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford from its junction with Bolford Street north for approximately 20 metres.

Diversion will be around the compound area.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 06 July 2026 to 17 July 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public, while the installation of the compound takes place, which is needed to complete the strengthening works at Borough Bridge.

The Order will come into effect on 06 July 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Burton End Road, Stansted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 540m north east from south east of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st July 2026 for 14 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06158112JB/01 – Affinity Water Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water Limited.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hall Road, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 240m south east of its junction with Henham Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311001WGSPMDON – Openreach Limited). (Temporary Introduction of a 30 MPH Speed Restriction)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction in that length of London Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford from a point approximately 270m north west of its junction with Spring Hill for a distance of 460m in both directions. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for 26 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02249410367 – D & R Building Services). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while rebuilding works are undertaken by D & R Building Services.

(Station Road, Wendens Ambo) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 400m in a westerly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA190GCECCTNA01209-TG – Gigaclear). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Thaxted Road, Little Sampford in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 1485m north east of its junction with Great Sampford Road for a distance of approximately 65m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410305286 – Affinity Water Limited). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Upper Pond Street, Wenden Lofts in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with School Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction.

  2. To temporarily close that length of Lower Pond Street, Wenden Lofts in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m south west of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly direction.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Royston Road, Chrishall/Wendon Lofts in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 55m south west of the junction with Essex Hill for a distance of approximately 3470m in a south westerly then north westerly direction. (Bardfield End Green, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bardfield End Green, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 200m north east of its junction with Bardfield Road for a distance of approximately 65m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th July 2026 for 10 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30052564424 – UK Power Networks). (Bartlow Road, Hadstock) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Bartlow Road, Hadstock in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Church Path for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction.

  2. To temporarily suspend the 18T weight restriction on that length of Linton Road, Hadstock in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Walden Road to the Cambridge District Boundary a distance of approximately 1217m as cited in "The Essex County Council (B1052, Linton to Saffron Walden) (18 Tonne Weight Limit) Order 2009" for the duration of the closure only.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Widdington Road, Newport/Widdington in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction with London Road to the junction with Spring Hill a distance of approximately 960m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th July 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2407526 & EP201EH2407526A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
