THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (BLACKBURN STREET, CHURCH STREET, RADCLIFFE) (ON STREET DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (RESTRICTION OF LOADING/UNLOADING) AND (REVOCATION) AND (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026 (Order)

1.4 This Order also makes the following amendments:

The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Blackburn Street, Radcliffe) (Prohibition of Waiting)(Limited Waiting)(Restriction of Loading/Unloading) and (One Way Traffic) Order 2010 shall have effect as though the following is deleted from Schedule 2 of that Order:-

Blackburn Street, Radcliffe – both sides from a point 15m northwest of the northwesterly kerbline of Dale Street/Deansgate for the remainder of the parking lay-by in a northwesterly direction.

And is replaced with:-

Blackburn Street, Radcliffe – Northeast side from a point 15m northwest of the northwesterly kerbline of Dale Street/Deansgate for the remainder of the parking lay-by in a northwesterly direction.

Blackburn Street, Radcliffe – Southwest side from a point 21m northwest of the northwesterly kerbline of Dale Street/Deansgate for the remainder of the parking lay-by in a northwesterly direction.

The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Radcliffe Town Centre)(Deansgate, Church Street West, Blackburn Street)(Limited Waiting) and (Revocation of Loading Only) Order 2008 shall have effect as though the following is deleted from the Schedule of that Order:-

Blackburn Street, Radcliffe – South westerly side of Blackburn Street from a point 91.9 metres northwest of the northwesterly kerbline of Mill Street to a point 111.8 metres northwest of the north westerly kerbline of Mill Bank.

And the existing description of Article 5 is deleted:-

Church Street West, Radcliffe – Northwesterly side of Church Street West from a point 111.8 metres northwest of the northwesterly kerbline of Mill Bank for a distance of 23.2 metres in a northeasterly direction.

    1. The Order comes into operation on 26 June 2026.

    1. A copy of the Order as made, plans showing the parts of the highway affected and a statement of the traffic authority's reasons for making the Order may be requested by email at traffic@bury.gov.uk quoting reference TM2/24/556 or inspected free of charge at the Reception, Town Hall, Knowsley Street, Bury BL9 0SW between the hours of 9am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays and public holidays).

  1. Any person wishing to challenge the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the RTRA 1984 or that any requirement of that, or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may apply to the High Court within six weeks following 15 June 2026.
