NOTICE OF PROPOSED CROSSINGS
VICTORIA ROAD EAST, HEBBURN 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that South Tyneside Council, proposes under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to
intend to establish signal-controlled crossing facilities, which may operate as either Puffin (pedestrian) crossings or Toucan
(joint pedestrian and cyclist) crossings on Victoria Road East.

Associated zig-zag markings on which vehicles would be prohibited from stopping at all times will be marked either side. Details of these proposals may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Council’s Legal Services Section at the address below.

If you wish to raise an objection, express support or make any other observations about these proposals, you must make them in writing at the address below (addressed for the attention of Road Safety Team / ref TRS04) by 13th July 2026. Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
