What is happening?

THE KINGSTON UPON HULL CITY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an Order.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person with a vehicle from proceeding along:- Savile Street, Kingston upon Hull.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives whilst LGBTQ+ Bars support the Pride in Hull Event on 25th July 2026.

The alternative route for vehicles will be signed.

The Order will take effect on 25th July 2026 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed on 26th July 2026.

TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847
ORDER FOR THE PREVENTION OF OBSTRUCTION IN STREETS
PRIDE IN HULL PARADE 2026, KINGSTON UPON HULL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 intends to make an Order for the purpose of preventing obstructions in the length of streets in the City of Kingston upon Hull hereinafter mentioned on the occasion of the Pride in Hull Parade on 25th July 2026.

The Order:-
(a) prohibits any person (except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform) from driving, riding or propelling any vehicle or causing or permitting any vehicle to wait in or on that length of:-
Paragon Street, junction of Chariot Street, from 0:00 to 8pm on 25th July 2026;
Princes Dock Street, the full length, from 9am to 12.30pm on 25th July 2026;
Princes Dock Street, from the junction of Posterngate to the junction of Whitefriargate, from 12.30pm to 8pm on 25th July 2026;
Wellington Street, the full length, from 9am to 12.30pm on 25th July 2026;
Humber Place, the full length, from 9am to 12.30pm on 25th July 2026;
Humber Dock Street, the full length from 9am to 12.30pm on 25th July 2026;
Queen Street, from Humber Street to Wellington Street, from 10.55am to 11.30am on 25th July 2026;
Carr Lane, from the junction of Queen Dock/Alfred Gelder to the junction of South Street, from 11.30am to 12.30pm on 25th July 2026;

Chariot Street, the full length, from 11.30am to 12.30pm on 25th July 2026;
Paragon Street, the full length, from 11.30am to 12.30pm on 25th July 2026.

(b) requires any person directed or permitted by a police constable in uniform to drive, ride or propel a vehicle or to cause or permit a vehicle to wait on or in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to obey the directions of the said police constable and of any other police constable in uniform, and

(c) requires all persons present in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to comply with the directions of any police constable in uniform.

The purpose of these closures is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during the Pride in Hull Parade on 25th July 2026.

The Order does not apply to fire brigade vehicles, ambulance and police vehicles.

The penalty for an infringement of the Order is a fine upon conviction not exceeding Four hundred pounds.

A copy of the said Order is available for inspection during normal office hours at the Reception Office at the Guildhall, Kingston upon Hull.
