What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (Public Footpath Framfield 65a and

Uckfield 38) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024 To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 21 June 2024 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:

Temporary Footpath Closure

The whole of Public Footpath Framfield 65a will be closed to all users between TQ 4830 1954 and TQ 4832 1960.

The whole of Public Footpath Uckfield 38 will be closed to all users between TQ 4824 1934 and TQ 4830 1954.

Unfortunately, there is no alternative route.

The closure will be in force for 18 months from 1 July 2026, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use.
