What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5026 GRAYTHWAITE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C5026, Graythwaite, from a point approx. 360 metres north of its junction with the U5061, extending in a predominantly northerly direction for approx. 600 metres.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C5026, A590, A5092, A5084, A593 and the B5285.

The Order will come into operation on 13th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 night between the hours of 00:00 and 01:00 ONLY and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
