Lupton - Temporary Road Closure due to Highway Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5087 LUPTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C5087, Lupton, from its junction with the U5416, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 130 metres. A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C5087, U5412, U5413 and the U5414.

The Order will come into operation on 13th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 10 weeks and 2 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
