Lowick Bridge - Temporary Road Closure Due To Highway Improvement Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (A5084 LOWICK BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway improvement works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the A5084 Lowick Bridge, adjacent to a property known as Croft End, extending in a north west direction for approx. 540 metres.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all.
A suitable alternative route will be available as follows;
Motorway Traffic via the unrestricted section of the A5084, A5092 (Grizebeck Brow), A595 (Ellermire Bridge), A595 (Wreaks Causeway), A595 (Kepplewray Hill) and A593.
Non Motorway Traffic via the unrestricted section of the A5084, A5092, A590, A592, A5075, A593.

The Order will come into operation on 13th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 4 nights and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
