Notice Of Making Of An Order - Highways Act 1980 - Public Path Diversion Order 2026 -Footpath 50 Abbess Beauchamp And Berners Roding In The District Of Epping Forest

The above order, made on 03 June 2026, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert a part length of Footpath 50 Abbess Beauchamp and Berners Roding, commencing from a point at grid reference 55936,20986 Postcode CM5 0PG, west of Ongar Road proceeding in a north westward direction across the large cultivated field to cross the River Roding and continue across an uncultivated field west north-westward to its connection with Footpath 27 Abbess Beauchamp and Berners Roding.
To an alternative route commencing from the aforementioned point west of Ongar Road proceeding west north-westward along the farm track to the next track junction where it deviates north westward across the uncultivated field to a proposed bridge crossing of the River Roding.

On the north side of the river bank the path continues at the field edge curving round in a westward direction to exit the field joining a track and heading north westward to connect with Footpath 29 Abbess Beauchamp and Berners Roding as shown on the order map.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to: Andrew Ritchings, Definitive Map Service, Essex County Council, Seax House, 2nd Floor, Victoria Road South, Chelmsford, CM1 1QH, no later than 23 July 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Essex County Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If an order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent together with the order. Any such representations or objections will be taken into account by the Council with the result that they may be made available to the public under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985.

Notice Of Making Of An Order - Highways Act 1980 - Essex County Council Public Path Diversion Order 2026 Bridleway 20 High Ongar
The above order, made on 8 June 2026 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert a part length of Bridleway 20 High Ongar of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the order map commencing from point A at grid reference 55833,23088 where it leaves a driveway running in a north north westerly direction across a hardstanding for a total distance of 103 metres to point B at grid reference 55830,20398 at the field edge where it continues unaffected.
To an alternative route 3 metres in width commencing at the aforementioned point A running in a generally north westerly direction behind barn style buildings along a grass track for a distance of 94 metres to point C, at grid reference 55829,20396 in the north west corner of a field then continues in a north easterly direction along a grass track for a final distance of 21 metres to the aforementioned point B where it continues unaffected.

Copies of the order and order map can be requested to be posted or viewed by emailing: publicpathorders@essexhighways.org, to arrange a suitable time to inspect the documents quoting the Order title. Documents can be made available for inspection 8:30am – 4:30pm Mon - Fri at: Essex County Council, County Hall, E block main reception, Market Road, Chelmsford, if so required following the current social distancing restrictions.

Copies of the order and order map are available on Essex Highways website at: www.essexhighways.org/public-path-notices, and have also been sent to Epping Forest District Council and High Ongar Parish Council.
