THE BOLTON (PUBLIC FOOTPATHS BOLTON 243, BOLTON 247 & RESTRICTED BYWAY BOLTON 259)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (NO.) ORDER 2026
The Borough Council of Bolton intends to make an Order not less than seven days from the date of this Notice.
The effect which will be operative from 6th July 2026 and will prohibit all pedestrian traffic from using the following Public Footpaths and Restricted Byways: Public Footpath Bolton 243 and Restricted Byway Bolton 259 commencing from Hatherleigh Walk point A at grid reference SD 74816 08418 in a generally west northwest then a west-southwest direction to point B at grid reference SD 74491 08499; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1Bol243/247/259 over a total distance of approximately 346 metres. Public Footpath Bolton 247 commencing from point C at grid reference SD 74538 08526 in a generally southerly direction to point D at grid reference SD 74535 08514; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1Bol243/247/259 over a total distance of approximately 16 metres.
An alternative route will be made available commencing from Hatherleigh Walk point A at grid reference SD 74816 08418 following the made-up path across the playing field to point B at grid reference SD 74491 08499. Commencing from point C at grid reference SD 74538 08526 following the made-up path across the playing field to point B at grid reference SD 74491 08499.
The Order is necessary to facilitate works associated with mine shafts and earthworks and will continue for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier.
