What is happening?

(Abbey Street Area Parking Management) 
(Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Amendment to Map Based Schedule) (No. 159) Order 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Derby City Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers in that behalf.

The purpose of the Order will be to introduce:

Proposed Limited Waiting (2 hours no return 1 hour) (Mon-Sat 8am- 6pm) (Permit Holder Exemption) to replace No Waiting (At Any Time)
Spa Lane
• From the existing single yellow line outside number 40, for an approximate distance of 8 metres heading towards its junction with Burton Road.

• Opposite number 17/19 for an approximate distance of 3m

Grey Street
• Opposite number 44/48 for an approximate distance of 5m

• Adjacent to Lighting Column LC35120 for an approximate distance of 4m

Gerard Street
• Outside number 175 to outside number 167 for an approximate distance of 20m

• Outside number 157 to outside number 155 for an approximate distance of 10m

• Outside number 152 for an approximate distance of 15m

• Outside number 126 to outside number 122 for an approximate distance of 10m

• Outside number 123 for an approximate distance of 5m

• Outside number 93 to outside number 95 for an approximate distance of 10m

• For its entire Length

Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time)

• From outside the entrance to Premier Meat for an approximate distance of 11m Grey Street

• From opposite numbers 18/20 and 22/24 for an approximate distance of 6.5m

• From opposite numbers 34/36 and 38/40 for an approximate distance of 8.5m

A copy of the proposed Order together with maps which show the definitive extents of the proposal, a copy of the Authority’s Statement of Reasons for proposing the Order and the Order being amended, may be inspected online at https://www.derby.gov.uk/tro 

Objections to the proposal stating your grounds of objection should be sent, in writing, to Traffic & Transportation, Communities and Place, Derby City Council, The Council House, Corporation Street, Derby, DE1 2FS or by email to traffic.management@derby.gov.uk to be received no later than 17th July 2026.
