NOTICE OF MAKING AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

THE HAMPSHIRE (BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH NO.37) (BASINGSTOKE - PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 8) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above-named Order, made on 27 May 2026 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish that part of the above-named public footpath which commences at SU 6434 5194 and proceeds eastwards to a junction with Footpath 10 at SU 6462 5199.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD and at the offices of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH; or online at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices. Copies of the Order and the map can be provided on request.

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Head of Countryside Access, Universal Services, Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD, or via e-mail to row.notices@hants.gov.uk quoting reference:- PPO 5282 no later than 24 July 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. The personal data you provide in any representation will be treated in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, and may be published in a decision report, be disclosed to other interested parties, including the landowner (or their representatives). It may also be made public if the matter is referred to the Planning Inspectorate. Your data will be retained for a maximum period of 3 years from the date that the application is resolved. The legal basis for our use of this information is the compliance with a legal obligation - Highways Act 1980. You have some legal rights in respect of the personal information we collect from you. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Hampshire County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
