Derby City Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE ONE WAY ORDER AND
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON CARRINGTON STREET AND TEMPORARY SUSPENSION
OF PARKING BAYS ORDER ON CANAL STREET, DERBY

WHEN: 27 July 2026 to 30 July 2026 WHERE: Carrington Street, from its junction with Canal Street to its junction with Derby West Indian Community Centre. Suspend the one way order on Carrington Street, from its junction with Trinity Street to its junction Canal Street. Suspend the parking bay order on Canal Street, from its junction with London Road to its junction Carrington Street. REASON: New electrical connection. 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Carrington Street – Trinity Street – London Road – Canal Street

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON CURZON LANE, DERBY
WHEN: 20 July 2026 to 04 August 2026 WHERE: Curzon Lane, from its junction with London Road to its junction with Burnside Street. REASON: Electrical reinforcement scheme 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: London Road – Burnside Street – Curzon Lane (and the same in the opposite direction).

WHEN: 28 June 2026 WHERE: Normanton Road, suspend the bus lane from opposite its junction with Leopold Street to opposite its junction with Sacheverel Street West. REASON: To allow bus lane to be used by vehicles to incorporate Contra flow for Electrical works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Kedleston Road – Broadway – Duffield Road – Ferrers Way – Birchover Way (and the same in the opposite direction)

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON GRENFELL AVENUE, DERBY

WHEN: 06 July 2026 to 12 July 2026 WHERE: Grenfell Avenue, at its junction with Sunnyhill Avenue. REASON: Water works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Sunnyhill Avenue – Coleridge Street – Grenfell Avenue (and the same in the opposite direction) 

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON KEDLESTON ROAD, DERBY

WHEN: 29 June 2026 to 03 July 2026 (09:30-15.30) Daily WHERE: Kedleston Road, from its unction with Allestree Lane to its junction with Coppice End Road. Kedleston Road (Access Road) to be closed at No 412 at all times for safety reasons – No through access REASON: Carriageway resurfacing works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Kedleston Road – Allestree Lane – Blenheim Drive – Birchover Way (and the same in the opposite direction) and Kedleston Road – Askerfield Avenue – Blenheim Drive – Birchover Way (and the same in the opposite direction)

DERWENT AVENUE, DERBY

WHEN: 27 June 2026 to 17 July 2026 WHERE: Derwent Avenue, from its junction with Duffield Road to its junction with Lambourne Drive. REASON: Major gas scheme ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Dufield Road – Spenbeck Drive – Ford Lane – Duffield Road (and the same in the opposite direction)
