(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Prewett Street which extends from Redcliff Hill eastwards for 25 metres.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 20th July 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months.
However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 20th July 2026 and 2nd October 2026).
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
Eastbound: Redcliff Hill, Bedminster Bridge Roundabout, Clarence Road, Somerset Street, Prewett Street (part unaffected)
Westbound: Prewett Street (part unaffected), Redcliff Mead Lane, Redcliffe Way, Redcliff Hill

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads and will be operative from 27th July 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 27th July 2026 and 21st August 2026 – please see Schedule 2 below for more details).
