What is happening?

The North Yorkshire Council, One-Way Traffic, Carleton Street, Order 2026 Notice is hereby given that on the 12/06/26 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 1(1) & 2(1) to (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along any length of road specified in column 2 of the following Schedule in a direction other than that specified in relation to that length of road in column 3 of the Schedule.

Notice is hereby given that on 12/06/26 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is to amend “North Yorkshire Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Craven) Consolidation Order 20##” by introducing the restrictions specified in the Schedules below:-

Schedule 1 - Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking

Skipton, Broughton Road (U2162), Northeast side from its intersection point with the northeast kerb line of Carleton New Road to a point 42.4 metres northwest of its intersection point with the north east kerbline of Carleton New Road - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Broughton Road (U2162), Southwest side from its intersection point with the northwest kerb line of Carleton New Road to a point 41.6 metres north west of its intersection point with the northwest kerb line of Carleton New Road - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Carleton Street (U2056), Southeast side from its junction with Craven Street to a point 10 metres northeast of its junction with Craven Street - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Carleton Street (U2056), Southeast side from a point 63.5 metres northeast of its junction with Craven Street to a point 69.4 metres northeast of its junction with Craven Street, its intersection point with the southern kerb line of Cross Street - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Carleton Street (U2056), Northwest side from its junction with Cavendish Street to a point 58.3 metres northeast of its junction with Craven Street (its intersection point with the projected south western boundary line of the western arm of Cross Street) - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Carleton Street (U2056), Northwest side from a point 64.5 metres northeast of its junction with Craven Street to a point 65.3 metres northeast of its junction with Craven Street, its intersection point with Gas Street - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Cavendish Street (C111), East side from its junction with Carleton Street to a point 26.5 metres north of its intersection point with the northeast kerb line of Carleton Street - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Cavendish Street (C111), West side in its entire length - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Craven Street (C111), Northeast side in junction with Carleton Street to a point 38.9 metres south east of its junction with Carleton Street - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Skipton, Craven Street (C111), Southwest side in its entire length - Waiting prohibited with exemptions.

Skipton, Hirds Yard (U2606), Northeast side from its junction with Gas Street to a point 3.8 metres south east of its junction with Gas Street - Waiting prohibited at all times with exemptions.

Schedule 2 – Revocations

North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of waiting & loading & provision of parking) (Craven district) Consolidation Order 2013:-

In so far as it relates to;

Cross Street, Skipton – South – From its junction with Cavendish Street for a distance of 27 metres in an easterly direction (No waiting - Waiting prohibited between 8.00am & 6.00pm, Monday to Saturday, with exemptions).

&

Cross Street, Skipton – North – From its junction with Carleton Street for a distance of 23 metres in a north westerly direction (No waiting - Waiting prohibited between 8.00am & 6.00pm, Monday to Saturday, with exemptions).

Copies of the Orders, which come into force on 26/06/26, together with a map showing the roads affected may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Skipton Library, High Street, Skipton BD23 1JX during normal office hours from 25/06/26 to 24/07/26 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders.

If you wish to question the validity of the above Orders or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 12/06/26 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
