TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(WORKSOP FOOTPATH NO.5, NO.26, NO.27, NO.28 AND NO.31)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -

No person shall: -

Proceed on foot,

in the following lengths of Footpath at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw: -

Worksop Footpath No.s 5, 26, 27, 28 and 31, short sections of these paths affected by the installation of a new Severn Trent pipeline.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows: -

From 6th July 2026 to 5th January 2027

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are no direct alternative routes but other paths to the north and south are available.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpaths. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety and enable the installation of a new Severn Trent underground pipeline, phase 1 of which runs between Worksop and Hathersage, Derbyshire.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED AND IS LIKELY TO ONLY AFFECT SHORT SECTIONS OF THE PATHS SHOWN ON THE PLAN, AND WILL BE INTERMITTENT SO PATHS WILL REOPEN BETWEEN STAGES OF THE WORKS.
AVOVE ON BEHALF OF SEVERN TRENT WILL PROVIDE DETAILED INFORMATION AT THE ENDS OF AFFECTED FOOTPATHS.
