What is happening?

MOBILE LIBRARY PARKING SPACE: NEW LOCATION IN HEMPSTED ROAD PAULSGROVE, AND CHANGE OF DAY IN FORT CUMBERLAND ROAD, EASTNEY.


1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: The Portsmouth City Council (Mobile Library) (Parking Paces) Order 2026. The effect of the Order would be:
a) To introduce a parking space for a Mobile Library, Tuesdays 1-5pm on the south side of Hempsted Road, on the hardstanding approximately 10 metres west of its junction with Ludlow Road. (The Mobile Library would be open on Tuesdays from 1.30 to 4.30pm).
b) To amend the operating time of the existing Mobile Library parking space in Fort Cumberland Road from Tuesday 1pm-5pm to Monday, 1pm-5pm.
c) To remove the Mobile Library parking space from the north side of Ludlow Road (outside No 61).
2. Copies of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2026" at

www.portsmouth.gov.uk.

Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Persons wishing to object to or make other representations with regard to these proposals must do so in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made. Representations must be sent to

or by post to TRO Team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref P014-2026 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 17 July 2026) stating the grounds for the objection.
