THE FIFE COUNCIL (VARIOUS STREETS, DUNFERMLINE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

Fife Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:-

(i) temporarily prohibit the use by vehicular traffic of Chalmers St – from jct. Glen Bridge to jct. Dewar St. The alternative route for vehicular traffic westbound is via Chalmers St, Goldfrum St and William St. The alternative route for vehicular traffic eastbound is via Chalmers St, Goldfrum St, William St, Baldridge Burn, Mill St and Winterthur Ln. Coal Rd/Lovers Loan (northbound carriageway) – from jct. Forth St to jct. Pittencrieff St. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via A907, A823 and B9156. Pittencrieff St/Glen Bridge (eastbound carriageway) – from jct. Coal Rd to jct. Bruce St. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via A944, A985, B980, Queensferry Rd, Hospital Hill, St Margarets Dr and Carnegie Dr.

(ii) temporarily prohibit the waiting and loading of vehicles on Chalmers St (both sides) – from Jct. Glen Bridge to property no. 12. William St (both sides) – from jct. of Pittencrieff St to jct. of Berrylaw Pl.

The Order is to allow carriageway resurfacing works/bridge repairs to be carried out in safety and will be operational from 06/07/26 to 18/08/26 or until earlier completion of the works. Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained.
