What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING

MILL ROAD, SCHOOL LANE AND TURNPIKE ROAD,

HUSBORNE CRAWLEY – WAITING RESTRICTIONS

On 16th June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Husborne Crawley:-

1. Mill Road, both sides, from the junction with School Lane, extending north-easterly direction for approximately 38 metres.

2. School Lane, both sides, from the junction with Mill Road, extending in a northwesterly direction for approximately 14 metres.

3. Turnpike Road, south-east side, from the junction with School Lane, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 646 metres to tie in with the Husborne Crawley town extents sign.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of Mid Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.30) Order 2026

Please Note:- The restrictions introduced by this Order have been in operation on site for some time under previous provisions. However, it has been identified that an error occurred in the original Order, and as such, this Order is being re-made to accurately reflect and formalise the restrictions as they currently exist on site. There is no change to the extent or effect of the restrictions previously in force.

Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 2nd July 2026.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 16th June 2026, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
