What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BRIDEKIRK, B5301 OUTGANG ROAD, ASPATRIA AND C2033 BLINDCRAKE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 16 July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. U2096 Bridekirk – 16 July 2026 for approx. 40 days (Ref: TTROC/18599)

From its junction with the C2038, extending in a south easterly direction for approx 600m.

Alternative Route: via the C2038 and A595.

2. B5301 Outgang Road, Aspatria – 20 July 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/18564)

From its junction with the A596, extending in a north easterly direction for approx 60m.

Alternative Route: via the B5301 Outgang Road, North Road and the A596.

3. C2033 Blindcrake – 20 July 2026 for approx. 19 days (Ref: TTROC/18778)

From a point adjacent to the property known as Elderflower Cottage, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 200m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2033 and A595.

4. U2093 Bridekirk – 22 July 2026 for approx. 8 days (Ref: TTROC/18604)

From its junction with the C2038, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 150m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2093, C2003 and C2038.

5. U2095 Bridekirk – 7 August 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/18613)

From its junction with the A595, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2095, C2038 and A595.

6. C2038 Bridekirk – 27 July 2026 for approx. 11 days (Ref: TTROC/18682)

From its junction with the U2095, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 90m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2038, C2003, A594, A595 and U2095.

7. C2038 Bridekirk – 3 August 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/18615)

From its junction with the U2095, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 280m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2038, C2003, A594, A595 and U2095.

8. C2038 Bridekirk – 14 August 2026 for approx. 22 days (Ref: TTROC/18603)

From its junction with the U2095, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 70m.
